Organic
Natural Ingredients

Not all foods are readily available as organic so Organic Bistro sources the finest natural ingredients where organic ingredients are not possible or practical.

We have a robust definition of natural, not the ‘everything in or near nature’ definition, but requirements that support the principles of sustainable farming, fishing and husbandry with minimal impact on the environment.  We insist that all our suppliers, both organic and natural, adhere to these principles.  We require that our products contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO’s), no growth hormones, no synthetic additives, and no chemical preservatives.  We insist that ingredients are minimally processed and that our meat proteins are raised and processed in humane conditions.  We strongly support these principles.

These are the same standards applied to certified organic ingredients. The difference between organic and natural as we at Organic Bistro define it is often only the cost and challenge of USDA oversight, certification and audit.  In many cases, the difference between organic and natural comes down to a certified source of feed stock or seed.  Our preference is organic and we are doing our part to encourage farms to convert to organic by encouraging organic farming methods.

Among some foods, like seafood, the organic requirement of traceability makes it impossible to certify food as organic.  We use wild caught Alaskan salmon , a fish that from the beginning of time has spawned inWild Caught Salmon pristine Alaskan rivers, matured for 1-3 years in cold, clean fresh-water lakes in Alaska and then migrated to the Bering Sea and North Pacific.  There is no way to trace the phytoplankton, krill and fish they eat in this natural maturation process so the fish cannot be certified as organic.  Yet, they are as healthy, nourished, chemical free and natural as any food can be.

At Organic Bistro, we use the finest, whole food, natural and organic ingredients to make our meals.  We build our meals from the bottom up based on what we put in, not what we take out.  This yields a nutritionally rich gourmet meal for a healthy lifestyle.
